The Library Minute with Pratyush

The Library Minute with Pratyush

Avon students love their school libraries. In each issue of Oriole Blast, we feature a book review by an Avon student. Maybe they'll get you hooked on a book.

Hello! My name is Pratyush Sathish Kumar. I am a 7th grader at Avon Middle School North. I am going to review, When, by Victoria Laurie. This book is classified as mystery and suspense.

In this novel, Maddi is a girl who can see dates on people’s foreheads. She gets paid to tell people their death dates. One day, a client asks for her children’s death dates. The client’s son is meant to die within a week. And just as Maddi predicted, the 13-year-old boy was murdered, and the client blames Maddi for it. As Maddi is pulled into a homicide investigation with the FBI, more and more teens are dying within weeks. As Maddi works to prove her innocence, she is also being tracked down by a mysterious black truck. And through a full pile of mysteries, Maddi and the FBI scavenge the clues to find that all the murders are loosely related to Maddi, and she might just be the murderer’s next target!

This book is HANDS DOWN, one of my favorite books. This book is packed with suspense and gets increasingly intriguing as it goes on. It will keep you on the edge of your seat! I liked this book and hope you will like it, too!

If your child is inspired to check out this recommendation, they may get it from their school library, by visiting our friends at the Avon-Washington Township Public Library or by picking up a copy online.
