Indiana All-Region Jr. High Band
Five Avon Middle School North students earned the honor of participating in the 42nd annual Indiana All-Region Junior High Band, sponsored by the Indiana Bandmaster's Association.
On a Saturday in November, these musicians gathered with 95 students from 12 Indianapolis-area schools at Southmount High School for a 9:00 am to 4:00 pm practice. The following day, guest conductor Professor Craig Pare, Director of Bands at DePauw University, led the students through the rehearsals and performance. One of these compositions was a world premiere of "Los Cuatro Vientos" by Johan de Meij.
